Established for more than 220 years Piggotts has never lost the pioneering spirit so evident during our early period.
Founded in 1780 during the reign of George III, Piggott Brothers started trading in the City of London at No.10 Old Jewry. We moved to larger premises in Cripplegate in 1841 and then to Bishopsgate in 1862.
Since 1970 we have been based at our eleven acre site near Ongar, Essex. We entered the new millennium by becoming a member of the distinguished Crown group of companies and through this association we have re-established a City office, again in Bishopsgate.
Tradition lives on through our long association with world famous West End Christmas lights going back to their inception in the 1950s.
Our Marquee Hire division also supplied the Chelsea Flower show with their marquees in 1973
Innovation is demonstrated by Piggotts’ record as one of the earliest suppliers of fibreglass flagstaffs, manufactures of caravan awnings and designers of windsock masts for the first North Sea Oil Rigs.
Today’s blend of tradition and innovation sees Piggotts as one of the oldest private UK companies, offering a fully comprehensive range of quality products and services.
