The IPT was established in 1977 to promote industry and commerce and the efficient and effective administration of government for the benefit of the public. This is achieved by promoting mutual understanding between legislators and wealth generators from all sectors of business. The IPT is a registered charity that is independent, non-partisan and non-lobbying.

IPT arranges attachment schemes for Civil Servants enabling them to see the parliamentary process at first hand in the company of an MP.
