Our Client is looking for a talented Solution Engineer for their office in Reading, England.
As the Solution Engineer you are responsible for designing the technical solution to a qualified client’s business problem.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the technical aspect of the sales process providing expert and professional technical sales support in the planning and design of products, software, and services across all distribution channels Including Inside Sales, Regional Sales, Distributor, Carrier, and VAR channels.
Coordinating the overall technical sales process and maintaining an excellent relationship with the customers’ entire team - both technical and business.
Writing and coordinating responses to RFPs, RFIs, and sales proposals
Coordination and management of large Pilot projects
Participation in calls and/or PowerPoint and web demonstrations as part of the regular sales process.
Analyze prospects/customers’ needs and provide optimum hardware and software solutions to help meet the prospect/customers’ requirements.
Interface with customer’s developers and IT staff to help integrate Our Clients\' solution.
Maintain a strong relationship with customers, distributors and technical teams.
As a part of the sales/marketing team, assist in pre-sales survey, design solutions, attend sales calls, gather information and present solutions to the customer and the sales team.
Work with the end customer’s technical team on an ongoing basis to ensure that the best in class solutions are being maintained/upgraded, etc.
Coordinate internal teams to ensure all technical issues are resolved proactively and questions answered.
Consult with customers to gather technical requirements for Our Clients Products and services.
Coordinate with other business units within and outside of Our Client to ensure efficient and accurate pricing, solution crafting and training.
Assist inside and outside sales teams and various partners as a technical sales expert on customer calls.
Participate in remote and on-site technical demonstrations and presentations.
Stay current with emerging technologies through technical and non-technical courses along with self-study.
Perform other related job duties.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION:
Experience:
5 years experience working in a customer facing environment, preferably in a technical, pre-sales, or implementation project manager role.
Knowledge and experience with cellular data and/or GPS systems is desired.
Experience managing implementations of products or services is desired. Knowledge of MS Project is desired.
Skills:
As there is a large requirement for proposal writing and RFx responses in this role, strong writing skills are required.
Ability to juggle multiple projects, running simultaneously.
Experience working in the trucking / transportation space would be beneficial.
Education:
Post Secondary education in a technical field or business field.
