Job Purpose
To work within the development team to provide ongoing design, development and support of Our Client’s software applications and websites.
Job Responsibilities
To be responsible for the design, architecture, development and administration of applications for software systems and websites.
To troubleshoot, debug and enhance the current software applications (specification/change documentation provided) to ensure smooth and efficient operation supporting key activities within Our Client.
To design and deliver web and software-based solutions as directed by the Technical Director / Senior Developer
Database Administration and performance tuning
To source, introduce and implement appropriate new technologies as required by the development of Our Client’s business and organisational goals.
To undertake training as required and keep up with industry innovations and developments to ensure that in-house applications are operating as efficiently as possible
To create plans for new projects
To give technical advice and guidance on new projects
To interpret client briefs and build websites that:
• have correct application of data
• have working functionality
• are user-friendly
To test web development and peer review
To deliver project on budget and timescales
To provide technical support
To undertake any other activity as defined by the Technical Director as being within the scope and range of the role.
Person Specification
A good foundation of programming skills/database development and a keen interest in developing knowledge and experience of business software applications further
At least 2 years’ .NET programming experience, VB and/or C# and solid programming skills with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
At least 2 year’s architectural and administrative experience with MS SQL2000/5, DTS, Stored Procedures.
Knowledge of W3C standards and guidelines
Familiarity with industry standard database & programming packages .NET VB and/or C# in MS Visual Studio
Demonstrable problem solving skills and the ability to analyse, debug and correct code-based errors
Ability to multi-task and manage the delivery of short-term tasks alongside longer-term projects
High attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication skills with the ability to speak and write clearly and effectively to understand and deliver application developments
Willingness and ability to develop skills and experience.
Ability to work independently or within a team
