Exhibition Sales Director - Head of Exhibitions - Sales Director - B2B Exhibitions Sales Director is required to manage a major B2B Exhibition portfolio in the Uk and to roll out the portfolio on an international basis aswell. The Exhibition Sales Director is required by a client who are an international Exhibition and Media organisation, with B2B and B2C Exhibitions that are "Best in Class" in their particular industry. The client employs over 1000 people worldwide and have made no redundancies in 2009.
ROLE: Sales Director - Exhibitions
LOCATION: London
SALARY: £38k to £42K Basic. OTE: £54k
ROLE: The Sales Director will manage a major, "Best in Class" exhibition portfolio, consisting of 4 major B2B Exhibitions, Conferences and Seminars. The Exhibition Sales Director will manage 3 Exhibition Sales Managers, An Event Manager and a number of Exhibition Sales Executives. The Exhibition Sales director is reqponsible for driving sales strategy ensuring it is implemented efficiently to fit the exhibitions business objectives
They will have full responsibility for the effective management and development of their sales managerial team in order to ensure the delivery of new business and core revenue targets.
The Exhibition sales director will be responsible for rolling the UK portfolio out on an international basis.
Sales director will be the main point of contact for the shows key accounts as well as targeting new key accounts within the UK and internationally.
Responsible for developing strategies for finding new markets and revenue streams and work closely with the Sales Manager and the sales, marketing, PR and operations teams to deliver a good Event.
Challenging management role as the Sales Director will be managing high level sales and management staff, all types of ages and experience, all kinds of dynamics. The Shows are all “Best in Class” for their sector. Are rolling out internationally.
Define, manage and measure the activity of the sales team to ensure they not only meet but exceed agreed performance criteria and revenue targets.
·Identify new business opportunities whilst maintaining and continuing to develop excellent relationships with existing customers
Responsible with the Event Director for identifying new markets and revenue streams.
Time spent travelling abroad will be key
·Provide accurate and timely reporting of key statistics and forecasts for the budget process.Adhere to budgets within all sales areas of control
·Responsible for sales staff recruitment, training, development, appraisal, probationary and disciplinary requirements
·Provide market, competitor, product & subscriber intelligence
·Deliver Event plans across all events to an agreed deadline
Experience Required:
Must have proven sales track record gained at senior management level within an Exhibitions environment. 6 + years sales experience in a media or Exhibition environment, ideally in exhibition sales.
A skilled negotiator who is commercially astute with well honed financial and interpersonal skills
4+ years people management experience is essential.
Experience of working with International Embassies and overseas agents would be beneficial.
Language skills would be an advantage
An proven ability to work across a number of events and disciplines ensuring sales and content are delivered to plan
Work closely with Marketing to ensure all sales collateral is delivered to the highest standard and with effective sales messages
Experience of devising an Exhibition portfolio sales strategy and budget planning.
